About Nathan and Véro
When you put together a Detroit import and a native Québecoise, what do you get?
A Unique Approach
Nathan and Véro's unique style of swing dancing combines the technical strengths of Quebec city's
dancing with the improvisational Detroit style. Nathan and Véro love to dance fast, be it Balboa,
Lindy Hop,
or Charleston, but their favourite dance is the Collegiate Shag. The two dancers
have become ambassadors of Collegiate Shag, making it their mission to spread the dance throughout
Quebec and the surrounding cities.
Nathan and Véro share a vision of swing that emphasizes versatility and musicality, which is why
even at breakneck speed you'll see them hitting all the punches. They love dancing many styles of
swing and to many styles of music, which is a major theme of the
QSRV (Quebec Swing Rendez-Vous) which they hold every year in
Quebec City. QSRV now includes classes in dances such as Lindy Hop, Charleston,
Shag, Balboa,
Slow Drag and more!
Background
Teachers with Port-O-Swing in Quebec city since 2003, Nathan and Véro hold over a dozen top three competition placements between them, including becoming last year's Vice-Champions in Collegiate Shag at the Canadian Swing Championships. They've taught Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa and Charleston in various cities and they're eager to spread their love of Collegiate Shag in Ottawa!
